Chase's chest x-ray looked a little worse today, and they're concerned he might be having reflux and aspirating. With the extra secretions and oxygen he's requiring, they think his lungs are irritated and/or inflamed, and they're trying to figure out why. So he's getting fed small amounts continuously instead of larger amounts every 3 hours to keep him from throwing up (it's more than spit up). And they started him on a diuretic because they think he may have a little fluid around his lungs. They don't think he has pneumonia b/c he shows no other signs of infection. But they think all this might be why he can't be weaned off the oxygen. Ugh! Not the news we were hoping for today. But the roller coaster continues. Actually I find myself comparing these days to things like the weather, sunny one day, stormy the next. Or even his heart monitor with all the peaks and valleys, but such is life. Anyway, Chase himself looked great today, and was able to personally wish his Daddy, Grandpa, and Great Grandad a Happy Fathers Day :) He got to meet his cousin Kyle too. Now we just need to get him home so he can meet his dog Max!
