Happy St. Patty's Day

We discovered Chase likes Irish music, or so it seems. He was in his bouncy seat, bouncing like a maniac, as we played our Irish favorites. Chris was happy! I can't believe it's already mid-march. We've been dressing Chase in green outfits all week :) He loves loves loves his bouncy seat. We've had to put a stack of books under him so his feet can touch, but now he can reach with his tippy toes and still manages to bounce bounce bounce to no end. It's his favorite place to be. He'll let us know when he's had enough, and then he usually wants to be held or stretch out on the floor. He rolls everywhere. We'll walk into the other room for a split second, come back, and Chase has rolled across the room and is practically under the table. He also lays on his back, kicks, and basically does the backwards worm. He can move pretty far by this method too :) He can almost sit up by himself...it won't be long. And he's gotten really good at tummy time, but still aways from crawling probably.
We're feeding him baby food now, and he's really taken off with that. He has an orange trach now thanks to the carrots. Then we got smart and started putting a bib on him, just laying it over the trach. We still mostly bottle feed him, giving him only about 25% or less by g-tube. Our next M.D. visit is April 15, and then hopefully we'll see what they're thinking about the trach and possible nasal surgery.
We've been attending a big church nearby, Church of the Resurrection. They have a program, Matthew's Ministries, that helps families with children with special needs. They have set up trained volunteers to watch Chase during church so Chris and I can enjoy the service. And they also have one Friday night a month where they have volunteers to watch the children so the parents can have a break. It's been great! We haven't done the Friday night thing yet, but having them watch Chase during church has been wonderful!

Hey guys,

Chase looks so cute. Looks like Chase is an Irish Pirate after all .... Arrrrgh! Just read your blog from February too, glad Chase is doing better. That Bronchiolitis can be rough on any little kid (biggest admission diagnosis during Jan and Feb at our hospital). Happy St. Patty's day and thanks for the updates. Love, The McFarland's
