May 30, 2008

Chase is still anemic, so he had another blood transfusion yesterday. He tolerated it well and looks much pinker :) We were concerned he might have another "episode" like he had with the first transfusion, where he had what they thought was a seizure and dropped his heart rate and oxygenation. It was very scary!! But he took this transfusion like a champ. The nurse said he had a couple instances overnight where his heart rate and oxygenation dropped, but he came back up after they repositioned him. We're still waiting on the results of the CT scan, and have lots of questions for the geneticist. Hopefully we see them soon. Chris and I, with the help of Mom and Elizabeth, were able to get in touch with a couple doctors who specialize in Chondrodysplsia and wrote a few articles. I think they'll be a great resource.
I love you, Lord; you are my strength.
~ Psalm 18:1, NLT

Katie & Chris, this is great! I know it takes extra time to keep everyone updated, and I appreciate that you're letting us all stay involved. Can't wait to hear more about Chase's progress -- he is one tough little guy!
We love you -

Katie & Chris, My friends' experiences at CMH have been satisfying and warm. I'm hopeful yours will also be. Thank you for the blog updates. Knowing how to pray for the three of you is important. We had a great weekend with LJ & A.

Love,
Carroll
