Chase was all about his pacifier today! So we feel certain he'll impress his occupational therapist tomorrow with the bottle. He sucked on his binkie for several hours straight today, whereas before he would tucker out after only a few minutes and have to take a break. So he's definitely building endurance! His weight has stayed the same the last couple days, so hopefully he will have gained some when they weigh him tonight. He's not far from 7 lbs now!
Our goal this week is to do the trach care ourselves each day and the trach change Monday and Thursday to become more comfortable with the process and develop our routine. I think if we can get really comfortable with that, then if he does have to get a G-tube for feeding it won't seem so overwhelming. We'll then have more confidence to handle the care and maintenance that the G-tube requires.
Chase loved being held by his Aunt Lizzi today. He was so wide awake and alert we sang some of Charlotte's favorite songs to him....maybe that's why he was so wide awake and alert :)
