The plan is for Chase to come home Wednesday!! Yippeee!! Chris and I will spend the night at the hospital with Chase in our room on Monday and Tuesday night to get a feel for the equipment and monitors that he'll go home on, and to make sure we are comfortable with all of his care. I spent most of the afternoon making phone calls to try to find ways to get home nursing. I spoke with the state, our insurance company, and my benefits manager. It's pretty complicated, but basically not a covered service under our insurance plan and since it's a private insurance company they don't have to follow Missouri's rules or recommendations. So we're exploring other avenues and we'll see what happens. We may just have to move over to Kansas! We're not completely moved in anyway :)
Chase will have another hearing test tomorrow. He failed his first two hearing exams, so the test tomorrow morning will be a little more sophisticated and accurate. Hopefully it goes well!! But the main thing is Chase will be home soon. I can't wait to just hold him all day and watch the Olympics :) That's my plan anyway. I meet with my supervisors and director Monday to discuss my maternity leave. It's complicated too, but hopefully I can still take 11 or 12 weeks off!!
