Surgery still in the cards

According to the doctors, Chase is only at about 60% of his feeds by bottle. So they're giving him a few more days to get up to 90%, otherwise they want to do the surgery. He gets a new attending physician tomorrow, so the new doc may have other thoughts, we'll see. Chris and I feel like he's doing better than 60%. He's taken 4-5full bottles the last few days when Chris or myself feed him, and at least half the other feedings. He gets fed 8 times a day. We're planning on charting it out to see for ourselves. Chase just doesn't do as well with the bottle during the night. And even sometimes during the day, we really have to push him, but he finishes it. So we decided to pull an all-nighter and feed him ourselves. We'll see if we make it all night, and if we make a difference or not. I guess Chris has more of the all-night job. He's doing the 11pm and 2am feed, and I'll do the 5am feed before work. I have to work a 10 hr day tomorrow and give a couple big presentations, so we'll see how this all works out :) We just feel like, for our own peace of mind, that we have to try everything before we put Chase through anything else.
Chase's blood pressure has been running higher than usual today and they had to give him a dose of hydralazine this morning. This afternoon and evening it was still up, but just below the paramaters for more hydralazine. He gained 1/2 oz today and is up to 7lbs 10oz now.

Every new baby brings all-nighters! We wish you well with the nocturnal feedings and the presentations tomorrow. Yes, you are giving Chase every opportunity he deserves because you are his loving parents and advocates. Maybe he just likes to take bottles from Mom and Dad!!

Whatever happens re:surgery or not, Chase and his parents are being prayed for by a devoted group of Clinton church family, friends and advocates. How do I know this? Because having just had dbs(deep brain stimulation)surgery for Parkinson's disease I was held firmly in the arms of many of these praying Christian soldiers and the lst surgery was "textbook perfect" according to the neurosurgeon. This is not exactly a quote from the bible but it's close. If God is for us, who can be against us?
The entire family of Wilson's are
In my prayers every day.
