Thanksgiving

We have more to be thankful for this year than ever before. Chase has opened our hearts and eyes to entirely new worlds - the world of being a parent, the world of being a parent of a child with special needs, the world of little things (little toys, little clothes, little smiles, little nose), and so many other worlds we're thankful for being introduced to. We've met great people and made good friends through Chase, and Chase continuously helps us put our life into perspective. I could go on and on about all that we're thankful for (family, friends, health, happiness) and about Chase. I do remember days of bumpy roads, when Chase was in the hospital, or the day when we were told at my 22 week ultrasound that there was something wrong. And it was a challenge to see life's big picture and still see all that there is to be thankful for. There will always be bumpy road days, but I'm thankful for family and friends that help me to not lose sight of all that I have to be thankful for.

"I do not think of all the misery, but of the glory that remains.
Go outside into the fields, nature and the sun,
go out and seek happiness in yourself and in God.
Think of the beauty that again and again
discharges itself within and without you and be happy."
-Anne Frank

We had a great Thanksgiving in Clinton with the family. Chase played with my cousin Becca's little ones, Greta and 2 month old Jack. What an added element of joy the little kiddos bring! We could have just sat around for hours and watched them.

Katie I'm too playing catch up. I'm so sorry I wasn't able to make it to the party. I still can't wait to see your family again.

During this time we do have to look at what we are thankful for. You had some bumpy roads but in the end you have a great little guy to keep you two going. I had to really look this year at what to be thankful for but I realized I had something to be thankful for too. I was able to share a great life with a great husband. I was able to see what a great father, friend, business man that Russ was. So when times seems so darn hard we all need to stop, breathe and think about what we are thankful for. That's my new thing just breathe.
Russ was really proud of your blog and was so inspired by the strength that you two had. He also enjoyed the pictures. Thanks for sharing with us.

God bless,
Carrie
