4 days

Chase failed his hearing exam and is said to have mild-moderate hearing loss. We were kind of bummed about the news, even though we sort of already knew. His right ear has mild hearing loss and his left ear has mild-moderate. So he'll get hearing aids in the next couple months or so. They said he can't hear whispers or some sounds like "s" and "f". We're thankful his hearing loss isn't more severe! Sometimes it's difficult to stay positive and optimistic when our hope seems to continually get crushed with not the best of news. But we just keep reminding ourselves that it could be worse, even though sometimes it's hard to feel that way. Mom said it best, "...we'll love him no matter what, and he'll know just how loved he his". And we'll keep celebrating with ice cream when we get good news like his homecoming.
His feeds are going well. They've increased the volume to 85 mls, and so far he's only taking about 30-45mls by bottle, but we're not pushing him as hard as we were before. His g-tube site looked pretty red and painful today, so they've been giving him tylenol and keeping an eye on it. Hopefully it's not infected!
We spent some time today preparing for Chase's homecoming. We washed his sheets, sorted through all his things that have just been piled in his crib, and ran around town looking for the perfect Pack-n-Play. We also got him a fun bumblebee swing. He loves bumblebees :) So I think we're all set. Only four more days til he'll be home!!

We're counting the days and hours right along with you, and directing more prayers your way, so the transition can be as smooth as possible. Chase looks older and so alert in the pictures now. It will be great to see him in person. Thanks for the blog--I love tagging along on the journey with all of you. Your faith is quite inspiring. Cathy
