Chase in his Feeder Seat

Chicago friends in for a visit to meet Chase

It's been a great week. We met with our Kansas case worker who we really like alot! She did a ten point assessment of Chase for the Kansas Technology Assistance Waiver. Thirtyfive points are required to qualify, and Chase has 95. His trach alone was 50 points. So now the paperwork gets processed and then we'll try to find a home nurse to take care of Chase when we go back to work. Meeting with the case worker and confirming all the wonderful services provided for Chase by the waiver reinforced that we're making the right decision by moving to Kansas.
Occupational theray came this week as well. She brought what is called a Feeder Seat that helps Chase sit upright and will help strengthen his neck muscles. He did better with the bottle this week, but there's still more work to do so OT will come weekly now. We're doing more 'tummy time' and different things to work on Chase holding his head up. He's beginning to reach for things and track things better, so he's making progress developmentally I think.
